So today my wife was doing something on our iMac, for some reason, shes using my account and she needs to get access to a file on her desktop but couldn’t

As my account has administrator privileges, and my mac osx skill are not……….well as sharp as they are in windows, I figured lets use terminal

sudo chmod 775 /Users/Nicola/

then I just enter my password and i have access to her home folder and she can update her file using my account, no need for faffing about.

Then after she was done I just set it back to normal, chmod
